About the Event

The Weatherford Texas Police Department will be hosting an instructor training course for The National Award Winning My Body…My Life and Real Men Programs from July 29th through August 2nd, 2019. The Instructor Training Class is five days in length, from 0800 to 1700 each day, with an hour for lunch. Certification in both the My Body…My Life and REAL Men programs is provided. The cost of attending the Instructor Class is $500 per student with checks being made payable to My Body…My Life, LLC. The Instructor Training Class is approved through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and Training for 40 hours of continuing education to be reported by individual agency. Each student and/or their organization will be responsible for any travel, food and lodging for the student attending the training. Each student must have passed a background check, usually performed through their agency. Each student will be provided with the curriculum manuals for both the My Body…My Life and REAL Men programs, a USB drive with the required forms for the programs and power point presentations to aid in their instruction. The class location will be provided upon registration confirmation.

My Body…My Life Instructors teach dating, domestic and gender violence prevention and rate reduction to both men and women ages of 13 to 93. Communities, schools, prevention organizations, businesses, civic groups, colleges, universities, military, churches and corporations are seeking ways to appropriately address violence in its many forms. These programs address the myriad of issues surrounding dating, domestic and gender violence as well as appropriate development and empowerment of the individual.

These programs and their developers have been honored with the prestigious National 2013 School Safety Award and have also received the Oklahoma Governor’s Commendation, the Oklahoma House of Representatives Citation and the 2013 Human Rights Award for their work addressing and combating issues of dating, domestic and gender violence against men and women in the schools, workplaces and the community.
